Lompoc Record letter to the editor

yeah, that's Mariah on the far right -- she's so cute!

Thank you for your article in the Sunday edition, “Protesters Mark Anniversary of Hiroshima Bombing”. However, the last sentence could leave the mistaken, though popular, impression that dropping the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki hastened the end of what would otherwise have been a protracted campaign against Japan. Historical evidence, including the diary of President Truman, shows that Japan offered to surrender even before the US employed weapons of mass destruction on their civilians.

In other news, I got hired to work for a mental health residency in Santa Maria. While waiting for that to start, I’ve been playing lots of Forge and became fascinated today with RMS.

And now, kung fu movies.

    Hey Steve,

I used to play something pretty similar to Forge. I forget what it was called, but it was basically a deck builder that let you test with friends. None of the rules were applied automatically, so it was up to you and your opponent to make sure the cards and rules were interpreted correctly.

Sorry it took me so long to reply to your comment. I’m a douchebag.

I actually like Forge precisely because of the rules implementation. It’s taught me a lot about timing and rule interpretations that has translated to real skill when playing with actual cards.

I’m trying to start up a game night on a regular basis, switching back and forth between SB and Lompoc. It would be really awesome if you and/or Mark could make it some time. Board/card/tabletop/video games all welcome.
